Trefor Jones
FREE Single Release! - Psalm 23: The Lord's My Shepherd
Using traditional Psalms as a lyrical blue print and mixing them up with up-tempo blues music is not what you would expect to hear every day but Trefor Jones has done just that with his latest translation of Psalm 23 ‘The Lord’s My Shepherd’. Taken from his album entitled ‘The Psalms’, this roots acoustic singer/songwriter “not only stirs the heart, but inspires the mind” (Geoff Howlett – BBC Radio Humberside), with this latest release. “The Psalms are worship songs for real life”, Jones comments, and this second single is no exception. Taking undoubtedly the most famous Psalm, the Welsh-born singer incorporates smooth and mellow country vibes along with vocal nuances reminiscent of Bob Dylan. This new single articulates how we have a hope through the pain and suffering of life. “The vocal power and ability to bring real emotion from what were originally deeply emotional songs” (Cross Rhythms) is what sets Trefor Jones apart and has led to him using these for worship throughout the UK.
